Edwin Smith was in my opinion the finest garden photographer who has ever lived. His ability to capture the spirit of a place or its simple beauty was exceptional and unbelievable almost always in black and white. Of all the photographers I know he has been the most influential on me. He has both inspired and entertained with all his work. Everything here is a tribute to his work and its impact on me.
Red Dahlia
Looking like it it's suspended in mid air, the value of a 2.8 lens is revelaved.
Sunlit Daffodil
Lea Gardens, Lea, Near Matlock Bath, Derbyshire
Lilly of the Valley
Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Derbyshire
Fallen Flowers
The first day of summer and already, they begin to fade and fall.
Allium
The attractive spherical nature of these flowers always makes them a favourite subject.

In bright sunshine they just scream 'look at me'.

The rose, an emblem of love and an enigmatic symbol of beauty.
